Through a programme of three leadership development training courses, a wide range of topics were covered to enable the senior management team to firstly, understand their own working styles, skills and approaches, and secondly to become aware of the differences between themselves and their senior colleagues in these areas. 

Using this newfound knowledge they were then taught and shown tactics, techniques and approaches for how to work together, how to handle challenges and ways in which they could move forward. 

Business coach leadership training brought the benefit of a new perspective to the charity’s leadership team, as well as relevant business insight for cross-sector learning.

Some of the specific subjects covered were:

• Clarity and understanding of the charity’s Charter (vision and purpose)
• Behavioural profiling i.e. DISC profiling to establish a common language and understanding of everyone’s behaviour
• Leadership and management styles – their individual styles as leaders but also how they prefer to be managed
• Character ego states – nurturing through to defensive
• Team engagement – identifying those who are pulling together, those who are cruising and those who aren’t!
• Management versus leadership
• Challenges and characteristics of dysfunctional teams
• Tactics to handle these challenges.
